Foundation Inspection
Before concrete is poured for your footing or slab, our engineers inspect the prepared subgrade to confirm it is consistent with the conditions assumed in the design — including soil type, depth of excavation, pier dimensions, and reinforcement placement.
Slab Inspection
We inspect reinforcement layout, cover, spacing, and placement prior to concrete placement for slab-on-ground, waffle slab, and suspended slab systems — minimising the risk of defects that may only become apparent after the concrete has set.
Frame Inspection
Frame inspections confirm that the structural framing — timber, steel, or light gauge — has been installed in accordance with the engineering drawings and relevant Australian standards. We check member sizes, connection details, bracing, and tie-down systems.
Pre-Sheet Inspection
Carried out prior to lining and sheeting, pre-sheet inspections provide a final opportunity to identify and rectify framing deficiencies before they are concealed within the building fabric.
Retaining Wall Inspection
We inspect retaining wall construction including footing preparation, reinforcement, drainage provisions, and connection details at key stages of construction.
Form 15 — Queensland Engineering Certification
The Form 15 is a mandatory engineering document in Queensland, certifying that the structural engineering design for a building has been prepared in accordance with the relevant codes and standards. Our RPEQ-registered engineers produce Form 15 certificates for all structural engineering work we undertake in Queensland.
Form 12 — Queensland Engineering Inspection Report
The Form 12 is an inspection report certifying that the completed building work has been carried out in accordance with the approved engineering design. Our engineers conduct on-site inspections and issue Form 12 certificates promptly after inspection.
NSW Design & Building Practitioner (DBP) Certification
In New South Wales, structural engineers working on Class 2–9 buildings must be registered as Design Practitioners under the Design & Building Practitioners Act 2020. All QED Engineers undertaking structural design work in NSW hold current DBP registration.
Structural Compliance Certificates
For projects in other states and territories, we provide structural engineering compliance certificates confirming that the design and/or construction meets the requirements of the NCC and relevant Australian standards.
Dilapidation Reports
Prior to construction works that may affect adjacent properties or structures, we prepare independent dilapidation reports documenting the existing condition of neighbouring structures. These reports protect both our clients and their neighbours by providing an objective baseline record.
